Annoying Business Jargon
Using highfalutin language when communicating is not only pompous, but also totally meaningless and quite annoying. For example, “Let’s ‘circle back’ to that issue in our next meeting”. Huh? What does “circle back” mean really. Wouldn’t it have been clearer to just say “Lets return to that issue…”?
A good speaker uses language that is easily understood by his audience, so using terms that only sound important but have no real meaning makes for ineffective communication. The idea is to convey a message, not confuse your audience. So why do so many persons use these annoying terms in business discussions?
