Who remembers when cell phones were simply for making and receiving phone calls? That notion seems like such a distant memory now that cell phones have “brains” and are capable of providing complementary functions to help with running your business.

Blackberry, iPhone and other such smartphones have opened the floodgates for developers to create applications (or apps) that transform a simple mobile phone into the business equivalent of a swiss army knife. One such application is DataViz, which allows you to create and edit Word and Excel files and PowerPoint presentations, and view PDF documents, all from your cell phone. And there are loads more useful apps that can streamline many different small business functions.
