Not to be confused with self-adulation or tooting one’s own horn, shameless self-promotion is the act of tirelessly pushing your own product, idea or agenda based on your claims of its awesomeness. It means expressing an unwavering confidence in whatever you have to offer, and doing it with such passion and fervor, people can do nothing but love you… or hate you.

Either way, they’ll feel passionately about your message.

Nathan Hangen of the Copy Blogger cites shameless self-promotion as a viable means of building a fanbase for your ideas and ultimately your business. Hangen lists four steps to mastering the art of shameless self-promotion.
