The imminent death of SEO

The pundits have been preaching the death of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) since the late nineties, when SEO was still very much in its infancy. SEO gurus laughed at them all the way to the bank, but that laugh has since been relegated to an unsure chuckle as more than a decade later, the lethal combination of Social Media and GEO search technology threatens to relieve SEO of its title as search king.

There’s no doubt that the future of search will change. In fact, it already is changing. It has to.

Dan Martell opens up discussion on this very relevant topic in a post on Shoemoney.com:

In the race for relevancy, could 2010 be the year that SEO is forced to relinquish its organic search throne to give way to the power of search filtered through and against the social graph + geo?
