Australia’s richest entertainers are The Wiggles – a pop band for toddlers – who have turned acting silly into a multi-million dollar empire.
Anthony Field (blue), Murray Cook (red), Jeff Fatt (purple) and Sam Moran (yellow) form the kid-friendly band which enjoys a worldwide following that earns them over $45 million annually. Their fans spend willingly on their live concert tickets, albums and merchandise and faithfully watch their television shows, and generally lap up anything “Wiggly”. Mind you, their target market is barely out of diapers.
Two of the members are former pre-school teachers, but how did a couple of guys end up singing silly songs for kids and making an empire out of it? CNN Money has the story.
